There’s oh so many things That I keep inside. Too many open wounds That I have to hide. A handful of apologies Do not make them disappear. A kiss and a cuddle Will not banish the smallest tear. Tears on the inside Rolling down my heart. Splashing onto memories That I wish would just depart. So I keep myself locked As I’ve hidden away my key. Which is best for everyone. Everyone including me.

If I were to paint a picture Of each memory that we share. They would be the most vibrant And no canvas would be bare. The studio would be packed From the concrete to the roof. It would be pure mayhem If I were to tell the truth. Paint strokes representing All the feelings that we felt. The friendship that we forged And the paths our Gods had dealt. Not a painting would be hidden But held up above the rest. For if not for these paintings We would not have passed the test. Now here we stand within this room, Observing all we’ve done. I pick up another canvas To continue what we’ve begun....

I step into the crowd, Just wishing I were home, I'm surrounded by people, I've never felt so alone. I trudge through the unkindness, The distance seems a mile. I wish they wouldn't look at me, 'Coz I don't want to fucking smile. With how I'm feeling lately, A smile would be a lie; A mask to keep them distant. My pathetic fears: disguised. A smile would: be deceiving; Contradict the way I feel. A smile would be misleading, If I know it isn't real. I wish I could just be myself, I haven't been me in a while. I'm sitting on a sofa... in my new house! That's right i've finally moved into our big ole house. Back in the area of family and friends.
